However, if you know of someone going through this crappy cancer thing, support is vital all the way through treatment.
Here are some ways to be helpful:
- Clean their house before they come home from the hospital. And again during recovery and treatment.
- Provide meals
- Offer to help with younger children
- Help with pet care
- Offer to run errands, pay bills, buy groceries, pickup RX from pharmacy
- Offer to drive to appointments
- ASK what you can do to help!
- Call and/or visit (don't just post on Facebook)
Now, like I said, I had family taking care of these things but others going through this crappy cancer thing may not.
Here's a list of thoughtful gifts for the woman going to have a mastectomy.
- Zip front robe with pockets
- Button up front pajamas
- Tervis or Yeti cup
- Pink house shoes
- Pedicure gift card
- Salon gift card to get their hair washed while recovering
- Lap throw
- Good book
- Amazon gift card
- Cancer Bible
